The first few photos are wrapping up Door County, WI, and then the rest, starting with the waterfall, move into Munising, MI, nestled on Lake Superior in what is called the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. At over 6 hours north of Chicago, this part of the country is very close to Canada and while they have a winter sports appeal to some, I, for one, would not want to be there in the winter! Munising is best known for Pictured Rocks National Seashore and the most picturesque portions of the rocks are only viewable by boat. We toured by land with a lot of hiking instead given our limited time there. Munising was a quaint, peaceful little town that had my dream spot - a combination cafe, old-fashioned soda fountain, and new/used bookstore - that even had board games for customers to hang out and play (we did and Scrabble, of course!).
